| William “Bill” Clarke recognized for Outstanding Service
The Jamaica Bankers Association (JBA) and the Jamaica Institute of Bankers (JIOB) extend congratulations to JBA President, William “Bill” Clarke who was recently awarded Lifetime Honorary Fellowship to the Caribbean Association of Banking and Finance Institutes (CABFI). Mr. Clarke’s award recognises his professional accomplishments, his sterling achievements and dedication to banking and service to the financial sector.
Awardees of this Honorary Fellowship are recognised for their substantial contribution to the Association and/or the advancement of the knowledge of the theory and practice of banking and finance; or who have given distinguished and meritorious service to the banking and finance industry. The selection criteria for the status of Candidate are strict and further include:
- having worked in the field of banking and for not less than twenty years, and
- served in a senior management position in the banking and finance industry for at least fifteen years.
Wayne Wray, Chairman of the JIOB and JBA Treasurer, congratulated Mr. Clarke. “He has a long and distinguished career as a banker in Jamaica and we are pleased that this has been recognised by CABFI and are proud of this achievement”.
Mr. Clarke has an admirable record of service, not only to the banking and financial sector but also to other sectors, where he lends his expertise. He is President and CEO of the Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited, Chairman of Micro Enterprise Finance Limited as well as the Mona Campus Council, University of the West Indies and Chairman of the PSOJ Pensions Sub-committee.
