The Jamaica Institute of Financial Services and the Jamaica Bankers Association hosted its 5th JIFS Finance Club event.
The Jamaica Institute of Financial Services and the Jamaica Bankers Association hosted its 5th JIFS Finance Club event at the CRU Bar on Thursday, February 20, 2014. Host sponsor for the event was LatCapital and it was attended by over sixty executives from the financial sector.
The JIFS Finance Club is a forum for social exchange within the broader financial services sector. This event cuts across various segments of the industry and creates an opportunity for relationship building amongst competitors seeking to build necessary collaboration in areas of common interest.
The event, which was hosted by the President of the Jamaica Bankers Association, Maureen Hayden Cater, included attendees from the top-3 levels of executive management within the local financial services sector.
In his address, Michael Jones, Chairman of JIFS Executive Committee, remarked that JIFS was pleased to have included the industry networking item on the quarterly calendar: “It fits right into our mandate as an arm of the JBA, and allows sharing and non-threatening interactions amongst players in the industry. We are happy for the association with LatCapital and the opportunity for partnerships and further engagement. We are particularly happy also for the developing relationship with Bangor University who are our new partners for MBA education."
